Renowned Swiss Hospital at the Forefront of Technology - with AI-Based Image Analysis by ImageBiopsy Lab
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making its way into medicine, and innovative hospitals are keeping pace. The Kantonsspital Baden (KSB) is utilizing advanced AI image analysis to aid in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal pathologies. The software tools from ImageBiopsy Lab enable a standardized assessment of chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system, offering specific modules for fracture detection and the evaluation of knee, hip, hand, and spine X-rays. Multiple KSB departments will use AI to optimize diagnostic workflows.
Transforming Analog Diagnostic Methods
Musculoskeletal pathologies are a global issue and occur more frequently than cardiovascular or respiratory diseases. Yet, many physicians rely on analog methods, such as purely visual or manual evaluations of X-ray images and MRI scans. These subjective and time-consuming methods are not standardized, and the results are highly dependent on the experience of the practitioners.
The AI-based MSK software platform developed by ImageBiopsy Lab provides an innovative way to efficiently translate radiological image data into objective and structured information about bone health.

An Interface between Radiology & Orthopedics
The AI software tools will be deployed at the KSB Center for Imaging and will also be available to the departments of Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Trauma Surgery. The goal is to optimize cross-departmental communication, treatment, and patient communication through the use of the software.
"The solutions from ImageBiopsy Lab deliver highly precise and clinically relevant results, which provide real value in pediatric and MSK radiology," says Prof. Dr. med. Rahel Kubik, Chief Physician of Radiology and Director of the Department of Medical Services. "Experience has shown that AI-based tools efficiently support radiologists and contribute to optimizing the quality and speed of diagnostics. Therefore, we are confident that with ImageBiopsy software, we are taking another important step towards the radiology of the future."
"Our innovations are based on many years of research and development in collaboration with leading experts in bone and joint diseases. We are pleased that our software tools are being practically applied by institutions like the KSB and providing added value to doctors and patients," explains Dr. Richard Ljuhar, CEO and co-founder of ImageBiopsy Lab.
